Chooks On Tour: Wheatbelt Muscle Tee White

Out on the farm, things run like clockwork… well, mostly. That’s thanks to Rick, or as everyone calls him, Rikipedia. The bloke who reckons he knows everything, and to be fair… he kinda does. Ask him about sheep rotations, the weather three weeks out, or why ya tractor’s makin’ that weird clunk, Mike’s your man. He’s a walking, talkin’ Wheatbelt Rikipedia with a mullet.

But come lunchtime, this fountain of knowledge turns into a trickle. Once the last morsel of lunch is polished off and the sun starts hitting that sweet arvo warmth, Rick and his trusty dish licker vanish. Sure enough, you’ll find ‘em out the back paddock, parked up in the tray of his ute.

The magpies know the routine and stand guard, feathers ruffling in the breeze, while Mike’s stretched out like a king in the shade, hat tipped down, boots off, snoring softly  after a couple of cold chooks.

It’s their daily ritual: The Wondrous Wheatbelt Forty Winks. The cows know better than to interrupt. The sheep steer clear. Even the flies seem to buzz a bit quieter, outta respect.

Yeah, he might be a bit of a bludger after lunch, but before his siesta, Rikipedia gets the job done. Truth is, the farm wouldn’t run half as smooth without the bloke.
